Frequently Asked Questions
Who can use Honeypitch?
Account managers, salespeople, managers, agencies, designers, developers, artists, lawyers, writers, printers, and entrepreneurs.
What does Honeypitch do?
Honeypitch helps communicate ideas and allows teams to confidently pitch their products or services.
How can this be used?
This solution has been designed for any single person or team who has to create or request proposals. Honeypitch can be used for converting sales online, generating new business, quoting existing clients, requesting sponsorship deals, departmental collaboration, approving budgets, and more.
Why the name Honeypitch?
Because of a saying that resonates with the founder: “You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” The meaning of this is that you can win people to your side more easily by gentle persuasion and flattery than by hostile confrontation.
Is this downloadable?
No, you simply signup and login from a current web browser. We suggest firefox but Internet Explorer and Safari works well also.
How do I get my contacts into Honeypitch?
You can choose to add contacts as they become ready to invite to the pitch. You can also import contacts from various formats that can be exported from your contact manager program or email.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, it is easy to subscribe and easy to cancel. Access your account page and the account will be closed and you will no longer be charged. Your data will be deleted so we do not recommend this unless you are totally sure.
Why was this done with Ruby on Rails?
Ruby on Rails is an agile development platform that allows us to build better software faster and respond to changes as they arise. That’s what makes it possible for us to build this product, the way you want it, in months instead of years.
How secure is the data?
User’s data should be plenty safe inside of Honeypitch. We’re using encrypted passwords, random token generation, and other common security techniques. We are also careful to verify access to each section of the site, so only the people you intend see your pitch.
Is there an open API?
No, not at this time. We are planning on it and will have some early integration with popular project management systems, accouting platforms, and CRM's.
What kind of database is used?
Honeypitch is backed by a MySQL database. MySQL was the champion of web application databases before Ruby on Rails even existed and that’s still true today.
